I found this movie on Netflix
From Fat to Finish Line
This movie was pretty good. It follows 12 people who lost A LOT of weight and now they are competing in a Ragnar Relay race.
These people are great and I really enjoyed hearing their stories and what led them to this point. I am a sucker for before and after pictures. I think no matter where someone is in their journey they are beautiful, but it is amazing to me to see some of the transformations people make.
Now, I liked this movie BUT I didn't love it. They back stories kept me interested but from there I wasn't really invested. I wish they would've made the race more of a focus and more of the participants and the course. Since it was so focused on the specific runners on the team and which leg they were on it made it hard to see the magnitude of it.
From Fat to Finish Line documents the incredible weight loss journey of a group of 12 new friends. Spread throughout the United States from San Diego to Maine, these former strangers became united through blogs, social media and friends of friends when race-enthusiast Rik Akey teamed with popular health blogger Katie Foster to form a very special Ragnar Relay team. Their vision was to put together a team of people who shared the common bond of losing and keeping off a significant amount of weight through running. In January 2013, the team ran the 200 mile Ragnar Relay race from Miami to Key West, FL.
Overall it was a good watch and definitely shows the hard work the 12 made to get to that point.
Good movie for all ages, strong focus on weight loss and running.
